City of Naples
Pier Improvements

About the Project

Located in historic downtown Naples, Florida, the Naples Pier, originally built in 1888, is an iconic landmark visited by countless tourists and residents alike. Due to the impact of Hurricane Ian on September 28th of 2022, the Naples Pier sustained catastrophic damage with the end having broken off completely into the Gulf of Mexico. Currently, the City of Naples is working with a team of engineers, architects, and scientists led by Turrell, Hall, & Associates, Inc. to design repairs and establish a reconstruction plan for the Naples Pier.  Together they aim to create a design that will enhance the Pier’s resilience through a series of mitigation measures, such as increasing the overall height and hardening the sub-structure, all while maintaining the unique, historic aesthetic that people have come to expect and love.
